  • How To: Lock Your Patio Door

    Step 1

    1. Ensure nothing is obstructing “keeper”

    Step 2

    2. Ensure nothing is obstructing “mortise”

    Step 3

    3. “Mortise” (small metal button protruding from door lock) is depressed when door is closed and flush with frame.

    Step 4

    4. Door is fully closed, mortise is fully depressed, and door can be securely locked.

  • How To: Clean Weep Holes

    Step 1

    1. Keeping the weep holes clean and debris free will ensure there is proper water drainage, and this will prevent water build up in tracks. This can easily be done by using compressed air.

    1. Always use soft clean cloth and glass cleaner.

    Step 2

    3. Wipe down in side to side and up down motion.

    4. Keeping the track clean will ensure that your patio door will slide easily. Using a damp clean cloth, start at one end, and run cloth along bottom of track. Notice the difference between pictures 12 and 16. Simple care and maintenance will ensure longevity of your product.

  • How To: Keep Vinyl Frames Clean

    Step 1

    1. Use soft clean cloth and dish soap.

    Step 2

    2. Pour approximately two table spoons on to cloth.

    Step 3

    3. Wet with water.

    Step 4

    4. Rub cloth together to mix soap and water.

    Step 5

    5. Use to clean interior and exterior of frame. (Will work for either tan or white).

  • How To: Operate Double Hung Windows

    Step 1

    1. To securely lock window, both top and bottom sashes must be securely closed.

    Step 2

    2. To open bottom sash, ensure top sash is closed, and pull up on bottom sash.

    Step 3

    3. To open top sash, ensure bottom sash is closed, and pull down on top sash.

    Step 4

    4. To open sash to clean, pull tabs on top of sash toward each other and pull down towards you.

    Step 5

    5. To replace sash, push sash up, keeping tabs pulled in, and replace back into frame.

  • How To: Remove Window Screens

    Step 1

    1. Using a Phillips head screw driver, turn screw closest to frame to left to bring wheel up into screen frame.

    Step 2

    2. Repeat step on bottom right of screen.

    Step 3

    3. Repeat step on top right of screen.

    Step 4

    4. Repeat step on top left of screen.

    Step 5

    5. If screen wheels do not go completely up into frame due to gravity, use flat tool (spackling tool, spatula, etc.) to lift up on wheels and pull frame out. To re-insert door, turn screws opposite direction to drop wheels back into track. Do not over tighten, as this will cause the screen to rub on frame, and will make it difficult to slide screen open and shut.

  • How To: Lock Your French Door

    Step 1

    1. Depending on configuration of your door, close in-active side (in this case it is the right panel that is usually closed), and pull up on handle to engage top and bottom locking pins, and lock dead bolt.

    2. Right side panel is secure.

    Step 3

    3. Repeat steps to secure left side panel, lifting up on handle to engage top and bottom locking pins, and locking dead bolt. Door is now secure.

  • How To: Remove Your Screen Door

    Step 1

    1. Using a Phillips head screw driver, turn screw closest to frame to left to bring wheel up into screen frame.

    Step 2

    2. Repeat step on bottom right of screen.

    Step 3

    3. Repeat step on top right of screen.

    Step 4

    4. Repeat step on top left of screen.

    Step 5

  • How To: Replace Screen Keepers

    Step 1

    1. Using a phillips head screw driver, remove top and bottom screw and pull keeper from frame.

    Step 2

    2. To re-insert, install top and bottom screw and tighten. Be careful not to over tighten screws.

  • How To: Replace Vent Stops

    Step 1

    1. Vent stops allow you to open your window partially to allow air flow.

    Step 2

    2. Tools needed are pliers and a flat headed tool such as a screw driver.

    Step 3

    3. With vent stop open, gently pull with pliers.

    Step 4

    4. While holding with pliers, gently pry side of vent stop and pull.

    Step 5

    5. Vent stop is removed.

    Step 6

    6. To re-insert, insert new vent stop into hole, and gently push on vent stop until it “clicks” into frame.
