The project
Neil and his wife called on American Vision Windows to tackle a delicate assignment: Install massive doors on a century-old home in a way that would complement the home’s antique charm.
Blending old and new
“Once you start modifying a house that’s over a hundred years old, you start thinking, is it going to lose its charm? Is it going to look too modern? It was a big deal to us — we were cutting a new hole in the side that had to line up with our new deck,” Neil shared.
Smooth, trouble-free installation
Installation was seamless. “They came in as if they had worked in my house before and knew it intimately. We were really impressed by the attention to detail,” Neil added.

The project
You may know Wendy as a radio personality, but she’s also a “land lady,” as she puts it. The building where she lives along with her tenants had 36 windows and four French doors that no longer closed or sealed properly.
“The reason I put off getting new windows was because I am terrified of construction. The mess, the dust, the time. Oh, and the cost,” she explained.

“I got four quotes and I was shocked at how competitive American Vision Windows was. Other companies all seemed concerned about how much financing I could qualify for,” Wendy shares.

“[Installers] all wore booties and one had a ShopVac; it seemed like his only job was to run around and collect the dust. Noto a bit of construction mess. My house was actually cleaner after I left,” Wendy shared.

“In about 7.5 hours they did 36 windows. I was shocked,” Wendy marveled. The new windows look beautiful, keep Wendy’s home at the desired temperature, and soundproof the home from outside noise. “I was unprepared for the soundproofing; I live in a really busy beach community,” she pointed out.
