Pella
Today, the Pella® family of brands offers a full range of quality windows and doors for new construction, remodeling and replacement projects. We are particularly proud that we can offer our residential and commercial customers windows and doors to meet virtually any style or budget.
Pella began in the small Dutch town of Pella, Iowa. In 1925, Pete and Lucille Kuyper began Pella as a window screen manufacturing company. In 1937, the first Pella window was created and sold. Pella’s first window had a steel frame and wood interior, and an insulating glass panel. Called the deluxe casement window, it even had a special exterior wash feature.
By 1960, Pella sliding glass doors had gained popularity and could be found across America in many homes. In 1964, Pella invented the first double-hung window that could be washed from the inside via a pivoting sash. Twenty years later, in 1985, Pella opened the first Pella Window Store, forever changing how consumers shopped for windows. Then, in 2003, Pella introduced its first vinyl windows and doors. For six consecutive years, Pella has even been named one of Fortune Magazine’s top 100 companies to work for.
Pella Windows and Doors is still owned by the Kuyper family, and it continues to be marked by innovation and excellent customer service. Since its beginning, Pella has also been marked by a commitment to environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. We are proud members of National Fenestration Rating Council, the U.S. Green Building Council, and a volunteer partner in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Program. We’ve also received awards such as the Governor’s Environmental Award, the EPA Pollution Prevention Award, and the National Arbor Day Foundation Award.
Pella is also committed to energy efficiency. We manufacture windows and doors that meet or exceed Energy Star requirements, meaning that our products are some of the most energy efficient on the market. Increased energy efficiency means saving money on heating and cooling costs, and keeping your home comfortable for longer.
